Heron

Walking along the Macclesfield Canal, on the edge of Poynton, for once I was the one to spot the interesting wildlife.

This heron (or grey heron, to give it its proper name) was on the opposite side, apparently looking out for something to eat. Fortunately for us (and the fishes) it didn't see anything it fancied, so I was able to take a few photos of it.
